Aerial cable installation involves many aspects, ranging from material selection to compliance with technical standards and safety regulations. This method is used when it is necessary to transmit data or electricity over long distances, especially in conditions where underground cable installation is impossible or economically inefficient.
Special insulated materials are used for aerial cable installation, providing resistance to external factors such as weather conditions, ultraviolet radiation, and mechanical stress. Most commonly, self-supporting insulated cables (SIP) are used — these cables are equipped with a supporting strand made of steel or aluminum wires, allowing them to withstand significant tensile loads.
Planning and preparatory works
At this stage, a preliminary analysis of the cable route is carried out, taking into account the terrain features, the location of the supports, and the distance between them. Designers create a layout plan that meets all technical requirements and safety standards. The appropriate type of cable is selected for the operating conditions, and all necessary materials and equipment are ordered.
After the planning stage is completed, the installation of supports begins — these serve as anchor points for the cable. The supports are installed according to the project, taking into account height levels and clearance parameters. It is important to ensure that the supports are securely and stably fixed so they can withstand the weight of the cable and external loads such as wind and precipitation. At the same time, the route is cleared of any obstacles that may interfere with the installation.
The cable is directly tensioned between the supports. Specialized machinery and equipment are used to ensure even tension and secure fastening of the cable to the supports. At connection points and turns, special fittings and fasteners are installed to provide additional structural reliability. After the tensioning and fastening are completed, all connections and attachments are checked for strength and compliance with project requirements.
